HONOLULU (KHON2) — At around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, officers arrested a 47-year-old man for the attempted murder of an officer in Kalihi.
Honolulu Police Department took to their social media to release some details of the case, stating just after 1:30 a.m., officers pulled over the stolen vehicle when the driver fled and fired at officers.
The officers returned fire and the suspect had to go to the trauma center in critical condition for his wounds, according to Emergency Medical Services.
The man was arrested on first degree attempted murder charges and a female passenger was arrested for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing.
