The announcement comes after the previous titleholder Noelia Voigt suddenly resigned from her position as Miss USA 2023 on Monday.

Initially placing as first-runner up back in September, Gankiewicz will now step up to the role with hopes of bringing a symbol of resilience and the Aloha spirit across the nation.

“I fully support and respect Noelia’s decision to step down, and I stand in solidarity with
mental health awareness,” Savannah said. “I accept the crown knowing that I have
been uplifted by my supporters, family, friends, and the people of Hawaii throughout this
journey. I accept this title on their behalf.”
