Dist. 39 recount is done, cured votes could make a difference

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The fight for State Representative in District 39 went to a recount. That recount was completed on Friday.

There was no change in the outcome.

Republican Elijah Pierick still maintained the lead with 4,706 votes and 50.11% to Democrat Corey Rosenlee’s 4,686 and 49.89%.

There are 2,500 ballots that still have signature issues, according to the County Clerk.

That amount of votes could make a difference in the recounted race.

Voters can track their ballots and have until Nov. 13 to cure, or fix, their ballot.
