HONOLULU (KHON2) — Taiwan President Lai Ching-te is scheduled to visit the East-West Center in Honolulu on Sunday, Dec. 1, during a transit stopover en route to several Pacific Islands.
The event will center on an informal, private discussion with invited guests on the topic of “A Future of Mutual Prosperity: Taiwan as a Partner for Peace and Prosperity in the Indo-Pacific Region.”
Both of President Lai’s immediate predecessors made similar visits to the East-West Center during their own transit stops in Hawaii.
