On Friday, the Hawaii Department of Education announced it will be reinstating one more bus route for Kekaulike High School (UR09A0).

Ground Transport Inc. will service the bus route for the Baldwin, Kekaulike, Kulanihakoi and Maui Complex areas.

All parents and guardians will be notified of restored routes and route modifications directly.

Once the route is restored, HIDOE will have successfully restored 116 routes, or 81%, of previously impacted routes.

The department continues efforts to restore the remaining 22 suspended bus routes.

Ground Transport Inc. continues to recruit new drivers, offering a starting pay of $32 an hour. They also offer paid training and training in-house for CDL drivers.

Those looking into the part-time gig can also enjoy paid vacation, holiday, health insurance, dental and 401k.

The company is also exploring other options, such as working with tour bus operators, to help expand capacity.

HIDOE said they will continue to provide more updates as more routes are restored.
