HONOLULU (KHON2) — A hearing in the Dixie Villa case was postponed and will be heard in January.
Villa’s attorney said prosecutors provided evidence after closing arguments but the prosecution said they were in the process of turning over the evidence to the defense when the jury returned a verdict.
That evidence apparently claimed that the baby’s mother lied during her testimony.
Prosecutors said nothing would have changed the outcome.
Villa, the baby’s babysitter, was found guilty of manslaughter for giving Abigail Lobisch a fatal dose of Benadryl in 2019 when she was 7-months-old.
