3 suspects wanted in Kalihi attempted murder

KALIHI, Hawaii (KHON2) — Honolulu police officials are searching for three suspects involved in a Kalihi attempted murder investigation.

Police officers responded to a car fire incident near the intersection of Kalihi Street and ‘Auiki Street just before 10 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27.

According to reports, three suspects walked up to the witness and threatened him to get inside a vehicle where a 33-year-old man was asleep.

The witness refused and was able to run to safety, per HPD.

The man who was inside the car was set on fire. Paramedics arrived and took him to the hospital in critical condition, where he suffered from severe burning.

No arrests have been made. The case has been classified as an attempted murder.
