This significant weather shift could garner the potential for dangerous conditions across the state.

The National Weather Service (NWS) is warning of damaging winds, heavy rain, and severe thunderstorms, particularly on Kauai and Oahu.

Strong winds are expected to hit areas east of the islands’ terrain from Wednesday night through Thursday night.

Heavy rain is also forecasted, with the possibility of flash flooding, especially on leeward sides where rainfall could be heaviest.

Thunderstorms are likely, with strong wind gusts being a primary concern, particularly on the western side of the islands.

The community is urged to stay alert and prepare for rapidly changing weather conditions.
