Customers who did not lose water service during the storm that happened on Jan. 30 and 31 are not affected by this notice. Customers who did lose their water service or experience low water pressure are advised to boil water before usage until further notice.

Affected areas include:

  • Ihe Place to Kanaio Road
  • Lower Kula Road
  • ʻIoʻio Place
  • Upper Naʻalae Road

The estimated duration of the water service outage is until 7 p.m. on Feb. 1. Potable water tankers can be found at the following locations:

  • Bottom of Copp Road and Kula Highway
  • Other planned locations are Kula Community Center and Ching Store

Once service is restored, officials urge customers to keep boiling water as a precaution until it is confirmed safe to drink. To safety boil your water, bring it to a rolling boil for at least one minute and let it cool before use.

Alternatively, customers can use bottled water rather than boiled tap water.

Officials say to use this boiled or bottled water for:

  • Drinking
  • Making ice
  • Brushing teeth
  • Washing dishes
  • Food preparation
  • Showering
