The Don Don Donki store will serve as a one-stop store for Japanese food products, along with a selection of American products tailored to the lifestyle of local customers. Customers can enjoy everything from daily essentials to specialty Japanese items.

“We are excited to bring the allure of Don Don Donki to the West Oahu community sharing the charm and food culture of Japan,” said Kazuhiro Matsumoto, an executive of the company that operates Don Quijote stores.

“The Don Don Donki store format will be different from our Don Quijote locations by featuring full-service meat and seafood counters, Waka Sakura, a conveyor belt sushi restaurant and a 350-seat indoor-outdoor dining area where families may enjoy their favorite okazuya dishes, poke bowl, sushi and popular street food items like wagyu beef skewers, grilled unagi, rice balls and sweet potato delights,” Matsumoto said.

The new Don Don Donki store will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week and be staffed by 170 employees that moved from the recently closed Waipahu Don Quijote location, as well as 110 additional new employees. Some in-store services will have varying operating times.
