‘A serious motor vehicle collision’: Motorcycle hits HPD vehicle stopped on freeway

EWA BEACH, Hawaii (KHON2) — On Feb. 23, just after 10:15 a.m., a traffic collision involving a motorcyclist occurred on the Farrington Highway on-ramp near Fort Weaver Road in Ewa Beach that Honolulu Police Department is describing as “a serious motor vehicle collision.”

According to reports, an HPD officer was at a stop in the traffic lane of the Farrington Highway on-ramp when his vehicle was struck by a 35-year-old motorcyclist, who was then ejected onto the roadway.

The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital in serious condition, and the HPD officer was transported to the hospital in good condition.
