HONOLULU (KHON2) — It’s a good time to plan that trip you’ve always wanted to take. Hotels are hoping to help Hawaii residents have an affordable staycation while flight prices stay low.
Hawaii residents can look forward to spring break travel at affordable prices.
“Both interisland and flying to and from the mainland are great deals,” stated Peter Forman, aviation expert. “Right now, would be about as good as you could find. So, they’re selling at their very best price.”
Forman said it’s better to book flights now rather than later.
“When the prices are this low, they’re about as low as they will go. Booking in advance really has no downside. So, don’t kind of wait and hope they come down further because I think more likely they’re going to go up,” advised Forman.
Those wanting a closer spring break getaway can take advantage of kamaaina rates at various hotels.
“For this spring break, we are partnering with fitness classes and we are so excited to be the home property of the first Cirque du Soleil here in Hawaii,” said Cecilia Hamao, Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel General Manager. “That’s really something that we invite the community to watch and see.”
Hotels like The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua also offer year-round discounts for locals. Kamaaina’s get 25% off standard rates.
