HONOLULU (KHON2) — An 88-year-old female pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street on Lunalilo Home Road in the Hawaii Kai area on the evening of Feb. 25.
According to authorities, an 18-year-old male was driving southbound on Lunalilo Home Road when he struck the pedestrian, who was using a marked crosswalk.
She was initially transported via EMS to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The driver remained at the scene and was not injured.
Police say neither speed, drugs nor alcohol appear to be contributing factors in this incident and the investigation is ongoing.
