The Punahou Boys Tennis competed in the 2025 Boys Tennis All-American High School Invitational over the weekend in California.
Punahou in their 2nd time in the Invitational since 2023, comes away with the Championship.
The Buffanblu entered the final match against the defending champs University High School and competed in a 7 court match. Punahou trailed 2-1 early in the match, but was able to bounce back and take the win 4-3 to secure another National Invitational win.
“The boys were so happy and it was so great to see their faces after we we found out we pulled it off,” said Punahou Head Coach, Ikaika Jobe.
The Buffanblu took 12 players with them to California as each match had doubles and singles taking part.
Punahou also won back in 2023 against the very same opponent.
“We actually won the title back then. And I think, you know, maybe some some schools were like, ‘oh, they just kind of got lucky. And, you know, that’s a one off’. But to come back here two years later and have a tight one, but pull it out and win the championship again, I think, you know, goes to show that, we’re not a one off,” said Jobe.
Punahou adds more hardware to their trophy case, after 14 matches in just 1 day to take the Title.
