OCCC inmate missing after failing to return from pass

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Authorities say an Oʻahu Community Correctional Center work furlough inmate failed to return to Module 20 on March 21, leading to a second-degree escapee charge.

Jason S. Takaki, 45, left Module 20 on the morning of March 21 on a job-seeking pass, and was instructed to return to the Module prior to 2 p.m. When he did not return, the Honolulu Police Department, along with state sheriffs, were notified.

Officials describe Takaki as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs approximately 158 pounds and has brown eyes and hair. He is at the OCCC serving time for unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, forgery and theft.
