WAIMANALO, Hawaii (KHON2) — At approximately 3:18 p.m. on March 23 the Honolulu Fire Department received a call to a building fire on Huli Street in Waimanalo, with the first of the 34 total personnel arriving within six minutes.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a small single-story residential building with heavy smoke and flames erupting from the home’s rear.
Firefighters were not able to locate anybody inside the residence. According to bystanders, all of the residence’s occupants were able to exit the structure.
The fire was brought under control at 3:49 p.m. and was fully extinguished at 4:02 p.m., roughly 45 minutes after HFD received the call.
No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze and an investigation has been opened to determine the cause and damage estimates.
