KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii (KHON2) — A vehicle collision on Queen Kaʻahumanu Highway in North Kona on April 9 led to the death of a 71-year-old cyclist.
The cyclist, Franz Albert-Ludwig Weber, was riding a black Trek cycle Kona bound when he rear-ended a tour bus that was stopped on the shoulder, according to police.
Weber was taken to Kona Community Hospital for initial treatment before being transferred to Oahu, where he succumbed to his injuries on April 17.
