HAWAII, Hawaii (KHON2) — Hawaiʻi Island detectives charged 42-year-old Patricia Ann McConnell of Pāhoa with murder following a domestic dispute that turned deadly on the night of April 24.
Authorities say, McConnell called police dispatch and reported being in a domestic dispute with a 45-year-old man. According to police, McConnell said the man had tried to kill her and she strangled him.
The man was found in a vehicle slumped over and not breathing. He was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital.
The victim was identified as 45-year-old Patrick Gideon John-Bruce Dalrymple-Collins of Pahoa. Police say, his death was ruled a homicide due to strangulation.
McConnell was arrested at the scene. She has since been charged with second-degree murder and third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, with her bail set at $1.5 million.
