HAWAII KAI, Hawaii (KHON2) — Multiple roads in Hawaii Kai have been closed as the Honolulu Police Department responds to a projectile device incident at the Hawaii Kai Substation.
HPD posted the incident to social media around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14.
Officials said HPD’s Specialized Services Division and military personnel are working to transport the devices to the Maunalua Bay parking lot for defusal.
According to HPD, roads in the area of Kalanianaole Highway and Keahole Street have been closed.
While it is unclear how long the closure will last, police ask the public to follow the instructions of officers at the scene.
