Santa Clara Sophomore and Campbell Saber alum, Cairah Curran has been named the WCC Player of the Year.
The softball standout for the Broncos was in the leadoff spot for Santa Clara’s batting order, and made the most of it each and every game. Curran led the conference in 5 offensive categories this season, runs (49), stolen bases (26), triples (5), batting average (.429) and hits (78).
Curran had 23 games with 2+ hits and even recorded a 16-game hit streak. She is only the 2nd Bronco to be named WCC Player of the Year.
The ‘Ewa Beach native who won the WCC Defensive Player of the Year in her Freshman season has now added Player of the Year honors in just her 2nd year in the conference.
Curran and her squad now head to the NCAA Softball Regionals this week as Santa Clara will take on Arizona on Friday in the 1st game of regionals in Tucson, Arizona.
