Man arrested after argument turns violent in Waipahu

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A 33-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday morning after allegedly hitting another man with a vehicle during an argument in the Waipahu area, according to Honolulu police.

The incident began around 11:45 p.m. Monday when the suspect and a 21-year-old man got into a heated argument that escalated into a physical confrontation.

At some point during the altercation, police say the suspect struck the victim with his vehicle.

Officers later located and arrested the suspect just before 3 a.m. Tuesday. He was positively identified at the scene and taken into custody.

As of 6 a.m., the suspect remained in custody while the investigation continues. Police have classified the case as second-degree assault.
