Ta’amu wins Championship MVP as Defenders win UFL Title

Hawaii’s Jordan Ta’amu and the DC Defenders took on the Michigan Panthers in the UFL Championship on Saturday.

Michigan led by UFL MVP Bryce Perkins, scored first after a 6 play 67 yard drive.

Ta’amu and the Defenders answered right away as DC drove 89 yards in 12 plays and ended on a Ta’amu Touchdown pass to Mickens from 26 yards out.

The Panthers did hold a 13-6 lead after the 1st quarter, but the Pearl City alum took over in the 2nd quarter.

Ta’amu leads DC to 4 touchdowns in the quarter and was responsible for 3 of them. Just in the 2nd quarter, he finished with 2 passing touchdowns, 1 rushing touchdown and a 2-pt conversion reception.

In just the 1st half, Ta’amu had 4 total touchdowns and 320 passing yards as DC led Michigan 37-19.

The 2nd half was much the same as Ta’amu and company held Michigan scoreless in the 3rd quarter.

DC Defenders went on to win the UFL Championship 58 to 34.

Ta’amu finishes with 4 passing touchdowns, 1 rushing touchdown, with 388 passing yards (most in a single game in UFL History) on 21-28 passing. Ta’amu also wins the MVP award for the UFL Championship Game.
