HONOLULU (KHON2) — A barricade situation on Sand Island Access Road resulted in an officer-involved shooting on June 22, the Honolulu Police Department said.
Authorities first alerted the public of the barricade around 8:30 a.m., asking the public to avoid the area while officials worked on the case.
At around 2:20 p.m., HPD said that while the barricade situation had been resolved, an officer-involved shooting did occur during the event.
An adult male was arrested for attempted murder and terroristic threatening, and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, officials said.
The circumstances of the shooting are currently unclear.
