The $1.5 million exterior restoration project includes painting, repairing windows, and fixing damaged concrete. Construction crews began work earlier this month and expect to finish by fall.

“We’re absolutely thrilled that after a couple of years of diligent fundraising, and through the support of many donors who helped us raise close to $1.5 million, we’re able to start the exterior painting and concrete repair,” said Gregory Dunn, president and CEO of the Hawaii Theatre Center.

As part of the project, one lane of Bethel Street will be closed on weekdays. However, the theatre will remain open, and events will continue as scheduled.
