HONOLULU (KHON2) — An upcoming exhibit opening tomorrow at the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum will shed light on the remarkable contributions of Walt Disney during World War II.
The exhibit, titled “The Walt Disney Studios and World War II,” will showcase Disney’s dedication to the war effort by devoting his studio to creating animated shorts, propaganda films, and posters.
During the war, Walt Disney and his studio played a pivotal role in producing over 1,200 insignias for the Armed Forces, along with animated short films featuring beloved Disney characters.
Additionally, the studio produced instructional media and government propaganda films and posters.
Starting tomorrow, visitors to the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum will have the opportunity to explore this fascinating exhibition, which will feature more than 550 examples of Walt Disney Studios’ contributions to the Allied war effort during WWII. The exhibition will run from June 1 to Dec. 31, providing a unique glimpse into Disney’s wartime efforts.
