The Pig and the Lady set to close, will reopen in Kaimuki

HONOLULU (KHON2) — One of Hawaiʻi’s most popular restaurants is closing, but will be moving to a new and improved location.

The Pig and the Lady have announced that their Chinatown location will host its last day of service on August 22, with a new location to open in Kaimuki in the fall.

“The move to Kaimuki is deeply personal for our family,” said Chef Andrew Le, owner of The Pig and the Lady. “This represents a full circle moment for us, and I’m proud to continue my family’s legacy in service to our greater community. Returning to Waialae Avenue feels surreal, and we can’t wait to open our doors and contribute to the rich tapestry of Kaimuki’s flourishing food scene.”

The Kaimuki location will serve as the restaurant’s flagship location, relocating the restaurant to 3650 Waialae Avenue at Civil Beat Plaza.

With about the same square footage as the Chinatown location, Kaimuki promises to deliver the same signature Vietnamese comfort food experience that has made The Pig and the Lady a local favorite.

The enhanced floor plan will feature outdoor seating and a full bar. The restaurant will offer both dine-in and pick-up orders, operating lunch service Wednesday through Sunday (lunch 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) and dinner Tuesday through Saturday (5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.).
