Gyotaku celebrates more than 20 years in the community

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Gyotaku is celebrating the traditional “Tanabata Star Festival” for the next two months at all three of their restaurants.

There are a variety of dishes featuring unagi and somen, which are common staples in Japan during this season, that you can enjoy.

They encourage guests to come in, dine and then make wishes on their colorful tanzaku paper and place it on the bamboo tree.

Here are some specials – WakuWaku Deals. They’re weekly deals that you can get while dining in at the restaurant.

Gyutoku has a new deal every Monday. For example, 20% off their combination bentos.

If you’re wondering “wakuwaku” is the feeling of anticipation for what will happen in the future. They want their guests to feel excitement and anticipation for upcoming specials, giving them something to look forward to on their next visit.
