Two injured from shooting, altercation in Kalihi

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Honolulu police are investigating a violent incident in the Kalihi area.

On July 7, officers responded to an assault report on Kalihi Street just before 9 p.m.

HPD reported a 22 year-old man was shot by a male suspect armed with a handgun.

The victim was transported by EMS to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

The shooting suspect is unknown and has not been located. No arrest has been made.

Following the shooting, a separate altercation took place at the scene.

Officials reported the victim contacted a 28-year old male relative who arrived at the scene.

Police said the 28 year-old man was arrested at 9:17 p.m. for assault and terroristic threatening after he threw an object at a 60 year-old man and threatened him with a knife.

Officials reported the elderly male was treated and released at the scene.
