HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Police Department arrested a 33-year-old man for alleged Attempted Murder in the Second Degree on the night of July 12 in Pearl City, the department confirmed.
Police say that around 8:15 p.m., the suspect got into an argument with a 26-year-old man at a Pearl City bar.
Following the argument, the suspect had fled the scene, authorities said. That’s when the suspect returned to the scene to intentionally try to hit the victim with his vehicle, according to HPD.
The victim jumped onto the hood of the vehicle to avoid being hit, officials said.
In response, the suspect reversed his vehicle, striking multiple parked vehicles in the process, which made the victim fall off the hood and get pinned between two cars, HPD said.
Authorities say the suspect fled the scene, but was later located and arrested.
The victim is currently in good condition after sustaining minor injuries during the altercation, according to officials.
The investigation is ongoing, and HPD urges anyone with information to immediately call 911 or visit any police station.
