Man arrested following overnight Wahiawa barricade

WAHIAWA, Hawaii (KHON2) — A barricade situation in Wahiawa came to an end shortly after 10 a.m. on July 13, following an approximately 10-hour standoff between the suspect and Honolulu police.

Police first responded to the area on reports of reckless endangering at approximately 11:30 p.m. on July 12 on Koa Street near Kilani Avenue.

As a result of the situation, the area was shut down as reported by the HNL Alert system shortly after 1:30 a.m.

Honolulu police confirmed the conclusion of the barricade situation, saying the adult male suspect had surrendered himself to police just after 10 a.m.

According to authorities, the suspect was then subsequently arrested on alleged Reckless Endangering.

The area was reopened shortly after 10:45 a.m., according to HNL Alert.
