UH’s Miura selected by Cardinals in MLB Draft

Maryknoll graduate Matthew Miura became the first University of Hawaii player selected in the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft on Monday, as the outfielder was taken in the sixth round by the St. Louis Cardinals.

Miura, picked 180th overall, is currently competing in the prestigious Cape Cod League this summer.

As a junior with the Rainbow Warriors, Miura led the team in batting average (.338), runs scored (53), hits (72) and stolen bases (18).

He has one year of eligibility remaining if he chooses to forgo signing with the Cardinals and return to UH for his senior season.
