The Hawaii Football Training Camp continued on Friday with the 3rd day, and the Rainbow Warriors Offensive Lineman starting to get their chemistry down.
“I feel like that bond that we’re building between our older guys and our younger guys is great. And I feel like the chemistry is coming into fruition and I feel like each day is another day for us to get better,” Hawaii Offensive Lineman, Zhen Sotelo.
Hawaii’s Offensive line only has 5 players with experience on the field with the ‘Bows and surrounded by a lot of younger athletes. Besides the youth, the leaders in the position group are making sure they get familiar with one another.
“the oline has to be the group that spends the most time together. I believe we we watched the most film. We’re always the last ones off the field or the last ones in on this campus. We got to be as one. We’re the only group really that has to play. Five is one,” said Sotelo.
Last season UH allowed 27 sacks, and this years group aims to keep that number lower this year and one way to help with that, is there 3 word mentality.
“Relentless, discipline and dominance. And those three things have to be what we put on film as well. And so and we believe that those three words, you know, apply to football, but not just that in life,” said Hawaii Offensive Line Coach, Derek Faavi.
Hawaii will continue their Training Camp on next week as they are just weeks away from Kickoff against Stanford.
