HONOLULU (KHON2) — The eastbound lanes of the H-1 Freeway were shut down completely for about an hour due to a multi-vehicle crash.
Just after 7 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, Honolulu first responders were sent to the scene near the Nimitz Highway off-ramp.
Officials said five cars were involved in the crash.
The crash caused a full closure of the Middle Street merge and Dillingham exit. Drivers were asked to avoid the area.
Nearly an hour later, the lanes reopened; however, morning commuters heading into town would still see heavy impacts to their drive times.
