HONOLULU (KHON2) — Former Punahou softball standout Mysha Sataraka is returning to familiar territory, this time, as a coach. She has been named an assistant coach for the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) softball team.
Mysha Sataraka, was named assistant coach at UCLA on Aug. 7, hoping to reignite the fire she felt when she was playing there.
Sataraka, a 2012 Punahou graduate, went on to ball-out at UCLA as a power-hitting third baseman from 2013 to 2016.
She was known for coming through in big moments and being a strong leader, helping the Bruins make several NCAA Tournament runs and earning All-American honors.
Now, she’s stepping back onto Easton Stadium’s dirt, not as a player, but this time as a coach, gearing up for the next set of Bruins.
From high school standout in Hawai‘i to college star, pro player and now Division I coach, Sataraka’s path shows her hard work and love for softball.
