The longtime Kapolei High School head coach, now entering his 25th season leading the Hurricanes, joins the show to reflect on his remarkable four-decade journey through the sport. From his Pop Warner roots in ʻEwa Beach to his playing days at the University of Hawai‘i, Hernandez shares the story behind the program he helped build from the ground up.

Also known for his work as a color commentator on Spectrum OC16 and XCast high school football broadcasts, Hernandez provides insight into the growth of the game in the islands, the challenges and triumphs of starting the Kapolei program from scratch, and what keeps him motivated after all these years on the sidelines.
