On holiday: Here’s Honolulu’s Statehood Day hours

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Friday, Aug. 15, is Statehood Day and a significant amount of the City and County of Honoluluʻs offices will be closed.

Emergency Medical Services, Honolulu Fire Department, Ocean Safety, the medical examiner and Honolulu Police Department will be operating as usual.

If you are wondering about getting to work, TheBus will run on state holiday schedule which is posted on its website. The Skyline will continue to operate on the regular schedule from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.

All parks, botanical gardens and municipal golf courses will be open for regular hours. The Honolulu Zoo will be open for regular business hours as well. There will be plenty of activities to enjoy during the day.

You will be able to park on the street for free, with some exceptions in Waikiki. View the list of Waikiki streets here. Metered parking on Kalakaua Avenue along Queen Kapiolani Park will not be free.

All trash will be collected per usual.
