WAIKIKI, Oahu (KHON2) — Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines are joining their loyalty programs, called Atmos Rewards, that would combine the benefits of HawaiianMiles and Alaska Mileage Plan.
For now, nothing has changed for HawaiianMiles members. But starting on Oct. 1, all HawaiianMiles accounts and miles will automatically transition into Atmos Rewards, giving members a new account number.
You can still earn points for the miles flown, but for those who have Pualani status, you will move to Atmos Rewards with similar perks such as free bags, priority boarding, and seat upgrades.
However, the airlines warn that some Pualani benefits will not be available starting Oct. 1.
Alaska airlines credit cards will be rebranded as Atmos Rewards, while Hawaiian Airlines credit card benefits remain unchanged.
Timeline to keep track of:
- Aug. 20
- Atmos Rewards revealed; HawaiianMiles remains unchanged.
- Sept. 25
- Last day to redeem HawaiianMiles, link accounts, or transfer miles.
- Sept. 26-30
- HawaiianMiles will be unavailable during this period.
- Oct. 1
- HawaiianMiles fully becomes Atmos Rewards; updates to lounges and Premier Club start.
