Vote now: Choose this year’s photos for MHS’s calendar

PUUNENE, Maui (KHON2) — The Maui Humane Society needs your help in choosing which photos will be featured in their 2026 calendar.

First responders and pets teamed up and posed for photos earlier this month. Now, the public can cast their votes to determine whose photos will make it into the calendar.

Starting now through Sep. 7, you can vote for your favorite pet and first responder at just $1 a vote. Participants include Maui’s police officers, firefighters, and lifeguards, as well as MHS’s own Humane Enforcement Officers,

Each vote directly benefits shelter animals in need. The 12 photos with the most votes will appear in the final printed calendar.

“This fundraiser celebrates the heroes in our community – the first responders who keep us safe, and the animals who bring love and joy into our lives,” said Kathleen Hogarty, Director of Development at Maui Humane Society. “By voting, the public not only chooses who will be featured, but also provides vital support for Maui’s homeless animals.”

Captured in black & white photographs, the 2026 calendar will feature heartwarming moments between pets and Maui’s first responders.
