Cutdown day across the NFL trimmed rosters to 53 players on Tuesday, and 17 with Hawaii ties survived to the regular season.
The group includes seven players in their first or second season, along with veterans Marcus Mariota and DeForest Buckner, former Saint Louis and Punahou standouts who were once teammates at Oregon. Mariota, now with the Washington Commanders, enters his 11th season, while Buckner begins his 10th with the Indianapolis Colts.

Several others with Hawaii connections were waived on Tuesday’s final cut-down day, including former Hawaii offensive linemen Luke Felix-Fualalo (Seattle Seahawks) and Kohl Levao (New York Jets), and receiver Keith Kirkwood (Ravens), Kapolei product Treven Maʻae (Las Vegas Raiders), and Leilehua alum Netane Muti (Detroit Lions).
