Man, 50, in critical condition after being struck by two vehicles

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A motor vehicle collision left a pedestrian in critical condition in Kalihi during the early morning hours of Aug. 28, the Honolulu Police Department said.

The collision occurred at approximately 12:03 a.m. on Nimitz Highway, according to HPD’s Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section.

A 50-year-old man was lying in the street on Nimitz Highway when he was struck by an unknown driver, who then proceeded to leave the scene, authorities said.

The man was then struck a second time by a different unknown driver, who also continued without stopping.

Emergency Medical Services transported the man to a nearby hospital in serious condition. At the hospital, authorities say his condition worsened to critical.
