HONOLULU (KHON2) — On Sat., Aug. 30, at around 11:05 a.m., the Honolulu Fire Department responded to a brush fire in Moanalua.
The fire occurred on the Ala Aolani Trail, where the first unit arrived at 11:20 a.m. with six units staffed by 16 personnel.
Officials said that the first unit reported a contractor worker who witnessed a downed power line starting a small brush fire
According to HFD, the fire was about 100 feet by 100 feet wide.
At 1:22 p.m., the fire was contained and turned over to the Division of Forestry and Wildlife, where they will take control and monitor for any hotspots or flare-ups, HfD says.
