Seventeen-year-old Kona Flanagan is one of the many swimmers who turned out for the event. Flanagan has been participating in this race since she was 10.
She finished at 46:11 as second overall female.
“I think the conditions were pretty good. It was one of the fastest times I’ve ever done it,” Flanagan said. “It was smooth going out, going in I caught a wave, so it was pretty fun.”
