Pokémon invade Kapolei waterpark this Sunday

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Wet ’n’ Wild Hawaiʻi is set to host its first-ever Pokémon Day on Sunday, Sept. 7.

The park will transform into a Pokémon playground filled with games, prizes and themed events.

Families can dive into activities designed for trainers of every age, and the highlight is the Pokémon Gym Battle on the giant LED screen.

This is where players test their skills for bragging rights as the ultimate master.

Nonstop giveaways and challenges

Every 10 minutes, staff will hand out 50 lottery tickets near the LED screen for the Pokémon Squishmallow Giveaway.

One winner is announced each round, and winners may only claim a prize once. But each drawing resets with a fresh chance for others to enter.

Pokémon Lures will also be dropped throughout the day to give fans the opportunity to catch rare finds across the park.

Guests can explore the Pokémon Pop-Market, which will feature exclusive merchandise and collectibles for dedicated trainers.

Fun for the whole family

Kids can jump into a foam party at 1:30 p.m., while fans can meet Pikachu and Ash from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for photos.

At noon, visitors are invited to relax in the Hawaiian Waters Wavepool for a Dive-in Movie screening of Detective Pikachu.

Wet ’n’ Wild is also promoting its 2026 season pass, which offers unlimited visits, free parking and an upgrade to Platinum for $55.99. That’s half the regular price.

Pokémon Day marks the park’s debut celebration of the franchise, inviting both longtime players and new fans to experience a one-day-only adventure.
