Honolulu Little League team honored by the Mayor

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Little League team took a visit to the Honolulu Hale.

On Thursday, Sept. 11, Mayor Rick Blangiardi congratulated the players and coaches from this year’s team after advancing to the Little League World Series.

“We love recognizing excellence in our young people, and you guys have definitely demonstrated that,” said Blangiardi. To go to Williamsport, we know firsthand cause a bunch of us played baseball, that ain’t easy to do to play at that level to get that far to compete like you did is terrific.”

The team was led by Manager Gerald Oda, who won the World Championships in 2018 and 2022.
