Motorcylist, bicyclist collide in Beretania hit-and-run

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Police Department is searching for a motorcyclist involved in a June 6 hit-and-run on South Beretania Street.

According to HPD, the incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. when a motorcyclist was speeding westbound on South Beretania Street when they collided with a male bicyclist at the intersection of South Beretania and Fort streets.


Motorcyclist, pedestrian killed in separate motor vehicle collisions on Oahu, Maui

Reports said the bicyclist was crossing South Beretania Street outside of a marked crosswalk and against the “Do Not Walk” sign.

After the collision, the motorcyclist fled the scene on foot. Both the cyclist and motorcyclist have yet to be identified.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the bicyclist to a local area hospital in serious condition.
