HONOLULU (KHON2) – Three Hawaii Middle Schools are being celebrated at the national level for creating schools that make keiki feel supported and inspired.
Aliamanu, Moanalua and Kaimuki Middle Schools have been named 2025 “Schools of Distinction” by the Association for Middle Level Education.
Aliamanu Middle School Principal Albert Hetrick tells us his school is welcoming and provides an inclusive environment. He explains that middle school is more than just academics, but also should include development of soft-skills.
He says there’s also a full range of opportunities, exploration through electives and extra-curriculars like Smart Labs, Flight Simulator and Drone Soccer.
