Honolulu man charged after allegedly possessing almost six pounds of meth

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A 29-year-old Honolulu man was arrested and charged with multiple drug charges after he was found with almost six pounds of methamphetamine in his vehicle, Hawaiʻi County Prosecuting Attorney Kelden Waltjen said.

Sione Latu Misinale was arrested and charged following a Sept. 10 traffic stop on the Big Island. After the stop, authorities executed a narcotics search warrant on his car, where they say they recovered 5.88 pounds of a substance that tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine.

He was charged with Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the First Degree and Attempted Promoting a Dangerous Drug in the First Degree, as well as other traffic-related crimes.

Misinale’s two drug charges are class A felonies, which can carry a sentence of either a 20-year prison term or 10 years probation and up to two years in jail if he’s found guilty.
