Portion of North King Street to be closed during morning commute

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The right westbound lane of North King Street between Houghtailing and Winant Streets will be closed on Sept. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The closure is due to work from Hawaiian Electric crews as they look to straighten a leaning pole in front of the Farrington High School football field and auditorium.

Flagmen and special duty police officers will be on site directing traffic. Safety signs and traffic cones will also guide motorists into the appropriate lanes.

Hawaiian Electric asks that drivers use extra kokua when maneuvering the area during the work. Expect traffic delays or use alternate routes.

Given the morning schedule for the work, be sure to budget extra time for the morning commute or school drop offs.
