Shake Shack announces Hawaiʻi location

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Shake Shack, a beloved restaurant known for their burgers and milkshakes, will be opening their first Hawaiʻi location in 2027, the company announced on Sept. 19.

The restaurant partnered with Union MAK, a Hawaiʻi-based company, to bring the burger spot to the islands.

“Bringing Shake Shack to Oʻahu is more than a tremendous milestone — it’s a heartfelt opportunity to become part of a place where hospitality is a way of life,” Shake Shack President of Global Licensing Michael Kark said. “The spirit of aloha, rooted in generosity, connection and care for one another, perfectly mirrors the values that have always guided Shake Shack.”

For Union MAK President Vince Espino, the opportunity to bring the restaurant to the islands is an exciting one.

“We are so excited to finally bring Shake Shack to Hawaiʻi,” Espino said. “Shake Shack is already very popular with locals who seek out the brand when traveling the world, so we know it will do very well here with kamaʻāina and visitors alike.”

Shake Shack’s Hawaiʻi location will also have locally-inspired flavors, artwork and more in addition to their classic menu items like their ShackBurger.
