The Maiava magic: Stacking game days, leading USC to 4-0

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Week 4 is in the books, and Hawaiʻi’s own Jayden Maiava keeps raising the bar. The USC quarterback is now ranked sixth nationally in passing yards and is proving that island-born talent can shine anywhere.

Maiava led the Trojans to a 45-31 victory over Michigan State with a standout performance. He went 20-of-26 passing for 234 yards and two touchdowns, and added 31 rushing yards with two more scores on the ground.

Under head coach Lincoln Riley, USC is off to a 4-0 start for the third time in four years, and Maiava still hasn’t thrown an interception, a key reason the team has a top 10 scoring offense.

The Palolo native has now topped 65 percent passing in three straight games, showing steady growth and confidence.

Back home, Hawaiʻi fans are soaking it all in. From family gatherings to local watch parties, people across the islands love seeing a true kamaʻāina dominate on a national stage.

From the shores of Honolulu to the roar of the L.A. Coliseum, Jayden Maiava carries island pride every time he steps onto the field, and Hawaiʻi cheers him on every yard of the way.
